Much more

There is a principle in the Bible that I refer to as the “Much more” principle.  This principle says that God’s love toward us through Jesus is much more than any other example we can find of love, goodness, grace, mercy, cleansing, freedom, etc.  As you read the following verses, let them convince you that God’s love for you is “much more” than anything else you can imagine.

Matthew 7:11

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!”

Matthew 12:11-12

“If any of you has a sheep and it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will you not take hold of it and lift it out? How much more valuable is a man than a sheep!”

Luke 12:24

“Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap; they have no storeroom nor barn, and yet God feeds them; how much more valuable you are than the birds!”

Luke 12:27-28

“Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; but I tell you, not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.  But if God so clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you?”

Romans5:8-9

“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.”

Romans 5:10

“If while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.”

Romans 5:15

“If by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many.”

Romans 5:17

“If by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.”

1 Corinthians 6:3

“Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?”

2 Corinthians 3:9

“If the ministry that condemns men is glorious, how much more glorious is the ministry that brings righteousness!”

2 Corinthians 3:11

“If what was fading away came with glory, how much more is the glory of that which lasts!”

Hebrews 9:13-14

“If the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ… cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
